Meet Chris and Alexis Heptinstall who live in south Alabama with their two daughters, Vivian Rose and Joan Jameson. The two decided it was time to venture into their own consulting and sale management business in the Spring of 2023–a decision they sought prayerfully.
Their journey has been led by milestones and building relationships. Beginning in Blountsville, Alabama, Chris cut his teeth in the cattle industry at Debter Hereford Farms—where he fell in love with production agriculture over medicine.
Chris holds a degree in Animal and Dairy Sciences from Auburn University, where he worked at the university’s Bull Test and Beef Teaching Units. After graduation, he moved back to his roots to assist the Debter’s in their operation before going to the Alabama Farmer’s Cooperative as General Manager at the Oneonta, Alabama branch. For the next three years he managed the Independent Co-op, learning as much as he could about the industry.
In the Summer of 2006, he was offered the chance to get back to his love of ranch management and served as the Operations Manager at the once heralded Camp Cooley Ranch in Franklin, Texas—the third largest seedstock ranch in the nation at the time.
Chris was proud of his time there, but then took over as the General Manager at Salacoa Valley Farms in Fairmount, Georgia. While there, Chris was instrumental in leading to the acquisition of Salacoa Valley by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Inc.—the sixth largest cow/calf operation in the United States at the time—allowing for the expansion of the Salacoa Valley operation to be the third largest Brangus operation in the International Brangus Breeders Association, and an honored member of Beef magazine’s Seedstock 100, selling over 500 bulls annually. During his tenure, Chris gained knowledge of branded beef programs, as the Tribe was promoting their Seminole Pride Beef Program. He was also instrumental in developing the Cattle Country commercial female sale in south Florida on the Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation where they sold 1000 plus bred and open heifers from their bull customers.
The Tribe sold the registered herd and Chris made the move to Quail Valley and then on to Southern Cattle Company, serving as managers over their operations.
After years of experience in all aspects of the industry, the opportunity presented itself for he and his wife to step out and start their own Sales, Marketing, and Consulting business.
Alexis has has been by his side through much of his career and comes with her own passion for cattle and marketing and she marks the sixth generation of ranching on her mother’s side of the family in south Florida and the third generation showman on her father’s side of the family.
Alexis has an extensive past in the show ring and in the rodeo arena, having competed in many local and national shows including the National Western in Denver, Colorado and the American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri. Alexis was recruited to judge on the prestigious North East Oklahoma A&M Livestock Judging Team, before moving back to her home state to complete a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Florida in Agricultural Education & Communication, Specializing in Communication and Leadership Development, with a concentration in Animal Science.
Since graduation, her career has been involved in the feed business, food service, and pharmaceutical sales industries.
When asked what excited her most about working in the cattle industry, she said, ”My roots run deep and I have a passion for working in a family-owned and operated business. I love being able to directly and positively impact an industry near to my heart.”
The two believe in the power of good presentation, ethics and hard work, and make a great team!
Chris said, “We are excited for where this venture will take us in the coming years and even more excited to partner with ranchers all over the United States to bring them quality marketing and consulting skills.
